The number of new energy vehicle registrations in the first half of the year hit a record high

In the first half of this year, 18.71 million motor vehicles were newly registered nationwide, 13.9 million newly licensed drivers, and 1.103 million new energy vehicles were newly registered, an increase of 774,000 or 234.92% compared with the same period last year.

  As of the end of June, the number of new energy vehicles nationwide reached 6.03 million, accounting for 2.06% of the total number of vehicles.

Among them, there are 4.93 million pure electric vehicles, accounting for 81.68% of the total number of new energy vehicles.

In the first half of the year, 1.103 million new energy vehicles were newly registered, an increase of 774,000 vehicles or 234.92% compared with the same period last year; an increase of 473,000 vehicles or 74.94% compared with the first half of 2019, a record high.

New registrations of new energy vehicles accounted for 7.8% of new registrations of vehicles.

There are 74 cities in the country with more than 1 million car ownership, an increase of 5 cities year-on-year, 33 cities with more than 2 million vehicles, and 18 cities with more than 3 million vehicles.

Among them, the number of cars in Beijing exceeds 6 million, and the number of cars in Chengdu and Chongqing exceeds 5 million.

The car ownership in Suzhou, Shanghai and Zhengzhou exceeds 4 million.
