A violent explosion was heard on Wednesday evening July 7.
This incident was caused by a fire in a container.
He was on board a freighter about to dock in the most important port of the emirate located at the southern end of the city.

The explosion was heard across a large part of Dubai.
Wednesday evening shortly before midnight, many residents of the emirate were indeed surprised by a thud.
Some were even able to film the scene about twenty kilometers from the incident.
The images indeed show a fireball over the port of Jebel Ali.

One of the busiest ports in the world
Minutes after the incident, the Dubai Media Office communicated on Twitter.
"
The fire is under control,
" the emirate government media agency reported.
No death or injury is to be deplored.
The circumstances of the incident, however, remain unclear.
According to the Dubai police quoted by the
Saudi media Al Arabiya
, the "
high temperatures
" in the region or the "
friction
" of flammable materials could be at the origin of this fire.
The port authorities also wanted to reassure.
“
All measures are taken so that there is no disruption to maritime traffic,
” they declared.
Because the port of Jebel Ali is one of the busiest in the world.
It is also the largest commercial area in the Middle East.
