Whether it is on the side of the Iraqi authorities or the armed groups, the Iraqis are angry.

Following a crisis meeting, the government said it was studying "

 all legal options

" to prevent these attacks from happening again.

But what are the Prime Minister's room for maneuver?

Caught between his American ally and the armed groups close to Iran in the country, Moustafa al-Kazimi is trying above all today to avoid escalation by favoring the diplomatic channel.

It must be said that the situation is explosive.

Immediately after the attack the militias and their allies called for an armed response.

In the middle of the day, this Monday, the funerals of the victims were even postponed, until this Tuesday morning to allow for larger gatherings.

Today, all of Iraq is holding back its breath.

The last time such a mobilization took place, militiamen stormed the American embassy in Baghdad and the country almost tipped into another war.
