Baoshan Airport is one of the main take-off and landing airports for the famous "Hump Route", with a total area of 1871 mu, a terminal building of 2,845 square meters, and a designed annual passenger throughput of 150,000.
In recent years, Baoshan Airport’s aviation business volume has continued to grow steadily, but various hardware facilities have been unable to meet the increasing demand of passengers, which has severely restricted the development of the airport, and the reconstruction and expansion of the terminal is urgent.
The expansion project of Baoshan Airport started in August 2018. The construction scale includes a new 1202m parallel taxiway in the flight area, a new 222m local second parallel taxiway, a new 56,000 square meter apron and flight area fence, drainage Auxiliary facilities such as ditch, new 27,000 square meters of terminal building and airport comprehensive business building and other production auxiliary buildings in the terminal area, with a total construction area of 47,232.46 square meters (including the terminal building), and an annual designed passenger throughput of 1.8 million passengers.
The project will newly acquire 554 mu of land with a total investment of 1.027 billion yuan.
The new taxiway and apron in the project were put into use on September 10, 2020, and the industry acceptance was completed on June 22, 2021. The industry acceptance opinion of the Civil Aviation Southwest Regional Administration was obtained on June 24, 2021, and it was officially put into operation on June 28. use.
