Food manufacturer "Imuraya Group" announced that it will manufacture and sell its main product "Azuki Bar" in Malaysia from September.

In the future, we would like to expand into the Southeast Asian market.

The "Imuraya Group", which is headquartered in Tsu City, is preparing to enter the Malaysian market, such as establishing a group company in Malaysia. Announced that it will be manufactured and released.

Three new products of "Azuki Bar" will be released, which are less sweet than before for the local market and are manufactured according to Islamic rules because more than half of Malaysia's population is Muslim. It means using raw materials that have obtained "Halal certification", which is recognized as being approved.

The price is about 120 yen in Japanese yen, which is a medium price range in Malaysia, and it is sold at local supermarkets and convenience stores.

"Azuki Bar" sold about 292 million units last year due to the increase in "demand for nesting" due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, which is the highest number since its launch in 1973.

A person in charge of the Imuraya Group said, "Malaysia, which is experiencing rapid economic growth, has the potential to become a hub for Southeast Asian markets, and we would like to consider expanding into the Islamic sphere in the future."
