Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, bicycle trips have exploded.

Good news for the environment.

And companies are now trying to capture this phenomenon.

Several of them are replacing the company car with electric bicycles.

A way to create social ties and attract new employees.

Cycling has greatly increased since the start of the health crisis: + 67% in Paris in 2 years and + 10% throughout the country in 2020. Cities which had urgently put in place "coronapistes" are in the process of perpetuating them.

And employees who are gradually returning to the office do so more and more often with a work bike.

In the Parisian consulting firm Agama, employees will now come to work by bicycle.

About twenty electric bicycles have just been delivered, and half of the Agama company will benefit from them.

"I live in the inner suburbs, I will come by bike so I would have 11 km to do every day," says Louis-Grégoire Logre, one of the partners.

In Agama, this offer interests even possible recruits.

"We talked about it with potential future employees who found the idea interesting", assures Louis-Grégoire Logre.

"In terms of image too, I think it's an additional asset that can differentiate us," he adds.

"There is no more hierarchy"

This means of transport is particularly practical for multiple trips to customers.

And it also corresponds to the CSR policy, the social responsibility of the company.

Without forgetting the tax advantage: -25% tax for a 3-year commitment.

After a year of pandemic punctuated by teleworking, the introduction of bicycles in the company is also a way of creating social links.

"There is no longer a hierarchy. The company car is rather reserved for senior executives or management. This is not the case," says Jérôme Blanc, co-founder of Tim Sports, which only offers function bikes.

Some customers of the company say that a "community" has been created by talking about "cycling experiences". The activity of Tim Sports has increased tenfold over the past year. Jérôme Blanc's main puzzle now is finding enough bikes to meet the demands of businesses.
