  Specifically, as of the close, the Dow fell 94.42 points, or 0.27%, to 34,299.33 points; the Nasdaq fell 101.28 points, or 0.71%, to 14072.86 points; the S&P 500 index fell 8.56 points, or 0.20%, to 4,246.59 points.

  Major US technology stocks fell across the board. Apple fell 0.64%, Amazon fell 0.02%, Netflix fell 1.6%, Google fell 0.84%, Facebook fell 0.01%, and Microsoft fell 0.59%.

  Energy stocks rose collectively, Exxon Mobil rose 3.66%, Chevron rose 2.11%, ConocoPhillips rose 1.48%, Schlumberger rose 0.44%, and Occidental Petroleum rose 3.22%.

  Anti-epidemic stocks fell across the board. Moderna fell 2.81%, Gilead Sciences fell 0.09%, Novavax Pharmaceuticals fell 9.94%, BioNTech fell 1.09%, and Pfizer fell 0.15%.

  Most popular Chinese concept stocks fell. Tiger Securities fell 16.29%, Youxin fell 12.93%, JinkoSolar fell 11.04%, Ruineng New Energy fell 10.49%, Tuniu fell 8.91%, Baidu fell 1.86%, and Alibaba fell 1.79% , Jingdong fell 0.83%.

In terms of gains, Angkor League rose 7.35%, Yuchai International rose 4%, China Everbright Water rose 3.85%, and Pinduoduo rose 0.25%.

New energy auto stocks fell across the board, with Weilai Motor down 3.01%, Xiaopeng Motor down 5.7%, and Ideal Auto down 0.11%.

  In terms of data, the US Department of Commerce reported on Tuesday that US retail sales fell 1.3% month-on-month in May, and again recorded a negative value after three months, far less than the expected decline of 0.7%. The previous value was revised to an increase of 0.9%.

In addition, core retail sales in the United States fell 0.7% month-on-month in May, less than the expected increase of 0.2%.

  In European stock markets, the London Stock Market "Financial Times" average price index of 100 stocks closed at 7172.48 points, an increase of 25.80 points or 0.36% from the previous trading day.

  In terms of international oil prices, the price of West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil (WTI) for July delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 1.24 US dollars, or nearly 1.8%, to close at 72.12 US dollars per barrel.

The price of Brent crude oil futures for August delivery on the London Intercontinental Exchange rose 1.13 US dollars, or nearly 1.6%, to close at 73.99 US dollars per barrel.

  In terms of international gold prices, the most active August gold futures price on the New York Mercantile Exchange gold futures market fell by 9.5 US dollars from the previous trading day to close at 1856.4 US dollars per ounce, a decrease of 0.51%.

  As for the US dollar index, as of the end of New York trading, the US dollar index, which measures the US dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.01% to 90.5363.
