The discos still do not have a concrete date for the reopening but the announcements could come soon.

Professionals in the sector are preparing for this eventuality but must face several difficulties, starting with the lack of personnel.

Nightclubs hope to see the end of the tunnel.

A reopening on July 2 is mentioned but nothing is certain yet.

The Minister for SMEs, Alain Griset, had indicated that they would be fixed by June 15.

We are now talking about June 21.

This would leave relatively little time for the establishments concerned to organize themselves.

Also, while waiting for the green light from the government, some bosses are already anticipating.

But after fifteen months of complete closure, a whole system must be restarted and the staff is not always there.

Difficulties in recruiting

The nightclubs are the only establishments to have never reopened since the first confinement.

Restarting is all the more difficult as the uncertainties are numerous.

They do not know if they will really be able to reopen or with what protocol.

According to professionals in the sector, the tracks for the moment are a gauge of 65%, antigenic tests at the entrance, and consumption seated, only at 6 maximum.

But nothing is decided yet and that does not facilitate the recruitment of staff which is already lacking according to Christian Jouny of the National Union of discotheques.

“We cannot size correctly. I started the exercise and found that out of about 20 calls, 18 people had gone to other areas of activity and I can understand that. They don’t nor did they have to wait until we could give them a green light and it is true that we are all in difficulty. "

The sector is therefore recruiting seasonal workers.

There is a need for waiters, hostesses, security guards and even bus drivers where transport has been set up to bring revelers home.
