• March The SEPE suffers a computer attack that paralyzes its services and delays the management of "hundreds of thousands of appointments"

The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy has reported that it has been affected by a new computer attack, as noted on its Twitter account.

The department headed by the third vice president of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy,

Yolanda Díaz

, has indicated that the technical managers of the Ministry and the National Cryptological Center work together to determine the origin and restore normality as soon as possible.

Last March, the computer system of the

State Public Employment Service

(SEPE) suffered another 'cyberattack' that prevented access to its website and caused a nationwide delay in the management of hundreds of thousands of appointments.

At that time, the CSIF union assured the importance of an investment in technology, since the applications and computer systems were about 30 years old.

The SEPE computer service was infected with '

ransomware

', a malicious software that is capable of encrypting files and locking computers in order to obtain money in exchange for returning the system to normal operation.
