Chinanews.com, Suzhou, May 29 (Reporter Zhong Sheng) On the 28th, the Suzhou Free Trade Zone held a press conference to announce the key directions and work arrangements for system innovation in the Free Trade Zone in 2021 and the "Innovation Action to Optimize the Business Environment 2021".

At the meeting, Zhu Huan, Director of the Comprehensive Coordination Bureau of the Suzhou Area of the Jiangsu Free Trade Zone, introduced that Su-Pay, the country's first electronic payment facilitation tool for foreigners, has officially landed locally and will give priority to providing mobile payment services for short-term inbound tourists from Japan and South Korea.

The Suzhou Industrial Park, where the Suzhou Free Trade Zone is located, is a window for Jiangsu Province to open to the outside world.

At present, the park has gathered more than 5,000 foreign-funded enterprises, and a large number of foreigners work, live, and study here.

Zhu Huan said that in the era of full mobile payment, foreigners who have worked and lived in China for a long time can fully enjoy the convenience of mobile payment and are full of praise for this.

However, for short-term foreigners who come to China for tourism and business exchanges, because overseas bank cards cannot be bound and used on domestic payment platforms, they cannot enjoy the convenience of domestic mobile payment.

In order to make the life of foreigners in Suzhou "out of sight", in early 2020, the Comprehensive Coordination Bureau of the Suzhou Free Trade Zone put forward a proposal to "encourage local banks to open cross-border electronic payment facilitation products".

Suzhou Bank took the lead in opening and launching Su-Pay.

"Recently, Su-Pay has been officially approved by the Nanjing Branch of the People's Bank of China and the Jiangsu Branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. It has begun to be promoted among foreigners in the park, and the number of users is rapidly increasing." Cao, President of the Direct Banking Division of Bank of Suzhou Feng said.

Cao Feng introduced that Su-Pay provides foreigners with an automated, full-online domestic electronic account opening service, which solves the pain points of foreigners traveling to and from bank branches to open cards.

"Recharge online, cancel accounts online, and use it online. Binding with foreign cards can be used and recharged, realizing the experience of recharge in RMB and deductions with foreign cards in a'second level'."

At present, Su-Pay gives priority to providing mobile payment services for short-term inbound tourists from Japan and South Korea who are active in the Suzhou Free Trade Zone.

Zhu Huan revealed that in the future, it will also explore to gradually expand Su-Pay's service targets to foreigners in more countries, and try to expand its application during the 4th China International Import Expo.
