Iran: relatives of Frenchman Benjamin Brière distraught after one year of imprisonment

Benjamin Brière has been in prison in Iran for a year to the day.
This French national was arrested in May 2020 by the Iranian authorities while he was visiting a national park.

Benjamin Brière arrived in his converted van in the country in December 2019. He
was arrested in 2020
and accused of espionage and propaganda against the system by the Iranian authorities.
His relatives have little news, and his sister, Blandine Brière, explains that it has been a year since the case has progressed and she calls for everything to be done for his release: "
We are not told much. , that is why today we are trying to do everything possible and reach out to the government, so that it finally does something.

Blandine Brière calls for help and wants more information about a situation that she describes as "
completely blocked
". "
The French lawyer who is helping us now tells us to stir up everything possible ... Because there, clearly nothing has happened since all this time. The case is really closed in the dark and we have no control over what is happening, no kind of progress, little future ... We do not know what will happen, we have no deadline on the stages of the procedure
, insists the sister of the French national,
there we need help. We need help to get him out of there as quickly as possible
”.
His family say he is being held in very worrying conditions in Iran.
According to his sister, Benjamin Brière is doing well, but that he does not know more about what could happen to him.
There are highs, there are lows, and the lows are very hard.
But he is holding on.
He persists in maintaining a rhythm of life that makes him think of something else.
