The Kings of Spain Don Felipe and Doña Letizia

have inaugurated this Wednesday the 41st edition of the International Tourism Fair

, Fitur, which is held in Ifema and which is the first event with international mobility since the pandemic broke out.

The fair opens in the middle of the diplomatic crisis with Morocco due to the migratory conflict.

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have made

a tour of various pavilions of the fair, but have avoided going to the stand in Morocco

.

It is not usually part of the usual tour of the Kings, but on other occasions they had visited it and today there was expectation if they did.

However, this has not been the case and, in fact, the Paseo de los Reyes has been more concise than in other years, when they have made a wider route and have visited other pavilions.

On this occasion,

only two of them have visited

, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, and by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz-Ayuso.

They have passed through the stands of the Ministry of Transport, they have inaugurated the one of Iberia and a small representation of Georgia has received them, which is a

partner

in this edition.

This is the first international fair to be held since the pandemic broke out.

More than 60 countries participate, including Morocco, and some 5,000 companies.

The minister of the branch, Reyes Maroto, stressed that this event

"represents a turning point"

in the recovery of tourism.

With regard to the conflict with Morocco, he said that there is already "a crisis cabinet that is looking for the best solution" in this regard and stressed that

it is one of Spain's main trading partners.

"We hope that this crisis will be resolved soon and focus on what is important, which is the recovery of the sector," said the minister.
