The retail price of regular gasoline this week averaged 151.8 yen per liter, up 1.2 yen from last week.

The impact of a cyberattack on one of the largest oil pipelines in the United States and a rise in crude oil prices.

According to the Petroleum Information Center, which is entrusted by the government to investigate gasoline prices, the retail price of regular gasoline as of the 17th was 151.8 yen per liter on a national average, an increase of 1.2 yen compared to last week.

This is due to a cyberattack on one of the largest oil pipelines in the United States on the 7th of this month, which temporarily stopped supply and raised crude oil prices.

It is the first time in about a year and three months that the retail price of gasoline has reached the 151 yen level.

Regarding the outlook for the future, the Petroleum Information Center said, "While there are concerns about a delay in economic recovery due to the re-expansion of the new coronavirus infection in India, there are also moves to resume economic activities in Europe. I think it will be flat next week. "
