The new 2 Series will therefore have nothing to do with either the 1 Series (based on a mini platform), nor with the current 2 Series Gran Coupé (based on the 1 Series), and even less with the 2 Series Active Tourer MPVs. and Gran Tourer.
It will be a small coupe worthy of the brand's reputation, which also promises sensations "in the tradition of the BMW 2002".
Better still: we already know that there will be high performance versions, with first an M240i equipped with a 6 cylinder which will send 340 hp to an all-wheel drive favoring the rear axle.
Then there will be a real M2, about which we don't know anything yet.
Let's just hope that as for the M3 and M4, there will indeed be a strictly rear-wheel drive version, and with a manual transmission.
Production of the new BMW 2 Series will start at the end of this summer.
