The Siemens project to record the emotions of FC Bayern fans during a game in empty stadiums has met with little response.

In six games, only 176 fans transmitted their pulse, although over 500 would have had the opportunity, a Siemens spokesman admitted to WELT AM SONNTAG.

A considerable part does not transmit the data from fitness bracelets, similar to the same way as many gift certificates are not redeemed.

At the Bundesliga final on May 22nd, 150 transmissions are expected, so that a total of around 300 fans would have submitted their heartbeat data to the #FCBayernPulse project.

Siemens, as the top sponsor of the FCB, links the transmitted heartbeat data with the course of the game and thus visualizes the reaction of the fans on the Internet.

The database is minimal, however, because the FCB has a good 290,000 club and 360,000 fan club members.

In pre-Corona times, Siemens and a British specialist agency analyzed the background noise from fans in the Allianz Arena during a game.

This meant that an acoustic reaction could be assigned to practically every move.

The project was considered a pioneer in data analysis of audience reactions.

The evaluation of heartbeat data from fans was started as a follow-up project.
