Regarding the regulation of Internet advertising, the government obliges giant IT companies to formulate management policies so that related business partners will not be disadvantaged, and conditions for acquiring consumer browsing history. We have compiled a final report requesting disclosure of such matters.

While the market for Internet advertising is expanding, concerns about oligopoly by giant IT companies and the handling of personal information have been pointed out, so the government has compiled a final report on the state of regulation.

According to this, since huge IT companies and affiliated companies occupy a large share of the market, there is a concern that conflicts of interest may occur with related business partners, so we have formulated an operating policy so that no disadvantage will occur. It is required by law to make it public.

In addition, when a huge IT company changes the contents of a transaction, it is obligatory to disclose the contents in advance and establish a system to respond to complaints and inquiries.

On the other hand, regarding "targeting advertisements" that are automatically displayed based on browsing history, etc., the guidelines will be reviewed to disclose the conditions for acquiring consumer data.

At the meeting, Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato said, "It is very significant for Japan to decide the policy ahead of the rest of the world. In the future, we will disseminate our ideas overseas and contribute internationally to the development of rules." I did.
