While e-commerce now accounts for 13% of retail goods and one billion packages are shipped each year primarily to homes, the report notes that this growth has not particularly boosted job creation.

Likewise, the authors are worried about the development of the deliveries offered, which reduce companies' margins and encourage them to automate their warehouses to the detriment of human staff.

To counter these negative impacts, the rapporteurs advocate a rebalancing between traditional businesses, e-commerce and digital giants through fiscal measures, logistics regulation, the encouragement of digitization or the creation of an “online commerce” label. sustainable ”.
