All this is freezers that reach -80 ° C.

Do you hear the sound of their compressors

 ?

There are six super freezers.

We are in the laboratory of Professor Hervé Bercovier.

“

In there we can store 400,000

doses.

With 10-20 freezers, we cover the whole country,

”he says.

These are for research, but Israel has enough of these devices to store the millions of doses of vaccine the country is purchasing.

The aim is to preserve collective immunity against Covid-19.

In his laboratory, at the Faculty of Medicine of Jerusalem, Professor Hervé Bercovier, prefers to use the more scientific term of “gregarious” immunity.

“

We have a large group of the population that has been infected.

Almost 10%.

And we have 55% of people vaccinated.

So we arrive at 65% of people who will not be too sensitive to the virus, and we practically achieve herd immunity.

In other words, it means that the epidemic ends on its own and goes away.

 "

After the 14 million doses acquired last year, the new contracts signed with the Moderna and Pfizer BioNTech laboratories provide for the purchase of 16 million additional doses.

What to protect the population until the end of 2022. This time, the children will also be vaccinated.

Israeli hospitals are closing their Covid units one after another and life has returned to near-normal after the

mass vaccination

campaign

of the population.
