Strata Manufacturing, the company specializing in advanced manufacturing processes, and wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, with the aim of enhancing the scope of export operations for health protection supplies, bearing the slogan «Made proudly in the UAE.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the memorandum was signed during a hypothetical event, in the presence of the CEO of Strata, Ismail Ali Abdullah, and the governor of Tokushima Prefecture, Kamon Izumi.

According to the agreement, Strata will establish a stable supply chain of health protection supplies and other essential supplies between the UAE and Tokushima Prefecture, which is located on the Japanese island of Shikoku, which has a population of more than half a million people.

In addition to exporting these supplies and supplies, including the "N95" masks manufactured at Strata's facility in Al Ain, in partnership with "Honeywell", the two parties will explore cooperation opportunities available in the fields of technical innovation, research and development.

The memorandum of understanding will support opportunities to provide health protection supplies and basic supplies to municipalities and government institutions within other Japanese provinces.

Abdullah said: “As part of its commitment to support the humanitarian efforts made by the UAE at the global level, Strata has been keen since the establishment of the (N95) mask production line to promote international initiatives to combat the (Covid-19) crisis, by providing health protection supplies to the communities that have You need it ».

He added, "This achievement contributes to consolidating our national and humanitarian commitment to providing products bearing the slogan (Proudly Made in the UAE) to various parts of the world, in addition to enhancing means of cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, including the development of technical innovations in a variety of sectors."

For his part, Izumi said, "Strata Manufacturing" succeeded in launching a production line for "N95" masks within its facility in Al Ain, to handle the distribution of "N95" masks and health protection supplies to the Middle East, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others.

He added that according to the memorandum of understanding, Strata will establish a steady supply chain of health protection supplies and other essential medical supplies to support the medical system in Tokushima Prefecture.

Manufacturing N95 respirators

In September 2020, Honeywell and Strata achieved a pioneering achievement, represented by their success in manufacturing the first million N95 masks at the Strata facility in Al Ain.

The two companies continued their cooperation to provide basic health protection supplies for frontline workers in the health sector in the UAE, in addition to strengthening the country's position as one of the leading countries in exporting masks worldwide, as part of its efforts to combat the disease "Covid-19".

The hygienic equipment production line is managed by a joint team of "Strata" and "Honeywell", which includes 70 specialized experts. Production operations have reached their maximum capacity to achieve the annual target of producing more than 30 million masks.
