They explained to "Emirates Today" that this is due to several factors, most notably the increase in demand with the beginning of Ramadan and the high temperatures that affect production, in addition to the variables of the local agricultural season, which begins to gradually decline at the beginning of next month, pointing out that there are several alternatives. Al-Khoury considered that these variables are temporary and limited, as they do not eliminate the existence of multiple alternatives for the imported goods from countries such as Jordan, Egypt and Iran, in addition to other neighboring countries or Asian countries.

Al-Khoury expected prices to decline gradually within a few days as a result of the policy of supply and demand, pointing to a significant increase in demand during the first days of Ramadan, and then witness relative stability in the following days.

In turn, vegetable dealer Muhammad Bashir said that the increases in some local vegetables are due to the significant increase in weather temperature during the current period, in addition to the increase in demand, but he considered that the price increase is still limited, and he expected prices to decline during the coming period.
