As of December 31, 2020, the total number of travel agencies nationwide was 40,682 (calculated based on the number of travel agencies in the fourth quarter of 2020), an increase of 4.47% over 2019.
Except for the decrease in the number of travel agencies in Jilin and Heilongjiang, which decreased by 0.71% and 1.55% respectively, the number of travel agencies in the remaining 30 regions all increased to varying degrees. The five regions of Hainan, Xinjiang, Hunan, Guizhou, and Gansu all increased by more than 10%. Among them, Hainan has the largest increase of 24.22%.
There are more than 2,000 travel agencies in the five regions of Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shandong, and Guangdong has the largest number of 3,390.
