Netflix, the world's largest online video service, has ended the '30-day free trial service after signing up'.

As the number of people staying at home increased due to Corona 19, Netflix, which grew steeply together, is now poised to pull out a rate increase card.

Reporter Kim Ki-tae's report.

<Reporter> The

number of paid Netflix subscribers worldwide exceeded 200 million.

Last year, when the Corona 19 crisis began in earnest, 36.6 million people increased.

Korea's subscribers also exceeded 5 million, making it the unrivaled No. 1 in the domestic OTT industry.

Netflix has completely stopped the 30-day free trial service, which has been maintained in Korea for more than 5 years since the 7th.

It means that the subscribers for COVID-19 have secured enough and will start to expand their profits in earnest.

Netflix raised rates in the United States and Japan last year, but the outlook is that domestic rates, which range from 9,500 won to 14,500 won, will also be adjusted.

Netflix said, "The rate increase has not been decided yet," and "it is in the process of testing to ensure the viewing rights of members," indicating that it is preparing measures to limit account sharing with others other than domestic partners.

OTT dinosaur'Disney' also entered Korea in the second half of this year. As a result, the competitive environment for native OTT such as Wave is expected to become more challenging.
