The decrease in mortgages played a significant role, the head of state said during a meeting on the implementation of the President's messages to the Federal Assembly in 2019 and 2020.

Commenting on the report of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, he recalled the problem of rising real estate prices.

“But this is not just an increase in prices, but such a significant increase,” the president said.

So, on average in Russia, the price increased by 12%, and the greatest dynamics in North Ossetia - 30%, Putin said.

"In the Oryol region by 19.7%, in Adygea by 19.3%, in the Amur region - 18.6%, in the Ryazan region by 17.6%," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to the Russian leader, it is clear when this happens in the Far East, "but in the European part - 30-20%."

In this regard, Putin announced the need to create additional supply in the housing market.

“But we need to look at this problem from the point of view of the FAS, see what is happening there,” he stressed.

In January, the Izvestia newspaper wrote that primary housing in Russia in the IV quarter of 2020 increased in price by 19% compared to the same period in 2019.

In October, the concessional mortgage program at 6.5% per annum was extended until July 1, 2021.

Putin also noted that if house prices continue to rise, then much of the effort under the concessional mortgage program could be nullified.
