Beijing, April 6 (Reporter Ni Yi) According to the statistics of the Ministry of Public Security, as of March 2021, the number of motor vehicles in the country reached 378 million, of which 287 million were cars; and 463 million were motor vehicle drivers, including cars. There are 425 million drivers.
In the first quarter of 2021, 9.66 million new motor vehicles were registered nationwide, and 8.39 million newly licensed drivers were registered.
In the first quarter, 9.86 million newly registered motor vehicles were registered, an increase of 3.886 million compared with the same period last year, an increase of 67.31%, a record high in the same period.
In terms of vehicle models, 7.5 million vehicles were newly registered and 2.03 million motorcycles were newly registered, an increase of 63.33% and 88.63% respectively over the same period last year.
As of March, there were 72 cities nationwide with more than 1 million vehicles, an increase of 5 compared with the same period last year.
Among them, 33 cities have more than 2 million cars and 16 cities have more than 3 million cars.
As of March, the number of passenger vehicles in the country was 248 million.
Among them, there are 229 million small and micro passenger cars (private cars) registered in the name of individuals.
The number of new energy vehicles reached 5.51 million, and 466,000 were newly registered in the first quarter.
New energy vehicle registrations accounted for 6.21% of new vehicle registrations.
