The economic recovery has not appeared in the first quarter of 2021 and, a year after the arrival of the first wave of infections and restrictions from the coronavirus, the labor market continues to maintain a negative balance.
One year after the first impact of the coronavirus on employment, there are 401,000 more unemployed, with another 743,628 in ERTE.
March was a more positive month than the Vice President of Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, gave to understand yesterday, and registered a decrease of 59,000 people in her unemployment register.
The decline since February represents the third largest drop in the historical series and the best figure for a month of March since 2015, and takes place once the impact of the third wave of the pandemic has been overcome, which has allowed the easing of restrictions that affect the economic activity, as highlighted by the Ministry of Labor.
The total number of registered unemployed people leaves behind the threshold of four million and stands, specifically, at 3,949,640 workers.
