Foreign Minister Motegi said, "We expect to contribute to the economic growth of Japan and this region." It will be done, "he emphasized the significance.

The RCEP was agreed in November last year by 15 countries including Japan, China, South Korea, and ASEAN countries, and at the plenary session of the House of Representatives on the 2nd, deliberations on a bill requiring parliamentary approval required for its entry into force began.

In this, Foreign Minister Motegi emphasized the significance by saying, "It is expected to contribute to the economic growth of Japan and this region, and it will also lead to the transmission of a message to maintain and strengthen the free trade system."

There are also concerns that it will be a China-led framework, but when asked how to use it for peace and stability in the region, Minister Motegi said, "I do not recognize it as a China-led framework. We would like to work closely with the country and play a leading role in the formation of economic order in the region. "

Although India has forgotten the agreement, the RCEP will create a huge free trade zone, which accounts for about 30% of the world's population and GDP.

Procedures are underway in each country, and the Government of Japan is aiming for prompt approval in the current Diet.
