Their call for solidarity, widely relayed in March 2020, had borne fruit.

And avoided the loss of 35,000 organic yogurts intended for schoolchildren.

In Chazelles-sur-Lyon, in the Loire, the owners of the Valfleury farm are crossing their fingers that the public is once again at the rendezvous at the dawn of this third general confinement.

Due to the closure of schools decreed by Emmanuel Macron, the farm has been facing serial cancellations of orders for school catering since Wednesday evening.

“Although having delayed the production of orders as much as possible due to the uncertain context for a year, our small on-farm processing workshop forces us to anticipate the start of production of our dairy products.

Consequently, we have a stock of 12,500 jars of vanilla dessert creams following the cancellation of several orders, ”says breeder Matthieu Gloria on Thursday.

A sale at low prices on Friday and Saturday

To avoid a pure loss of its stocks, and therefore financial losses, and to fight against food waste, the farm calls for the solidarity of the public and invites those who can to come and fill up on yogurts on Friday and Saturday, on the AlterMonts cheese dairy market, in the town.

Appointment is given on April 2, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The prices provided are of course attractive.

“We will offer you the professional price and the family format: 10 euros per half-box (24 jars) by the use-by date of April 12,” assures the farmer.
