Last month, Korea's exports surpassed 50 billion dollars for the first time this year, the highest in March.



The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced today (1st) that exports in March recorded 53.8 billion dollars, an increase of 16.6% from the same period last year.



It has been 3 years since exports have increased for 5 consecutive months.



Of the 15 major export items in Korea, 14 items increased, and most items were evenly advertised.



In the petrochemical industry, intermediate goods such as 48.5%, petroleum products 18.3%, steel 12.8%, and fiber 9.4% made a significant leap forward.



In particular, petrochemical exports worth 4.75 billion dollars last month, recording the highest monthly exports ever.



Semiconductors also exported $9.51 billion last month, reaching the highest level in two years and four months, and automobile exports were $4.4 billion, the highest in four years and three months.



Last month, imports rose 18.8% to $49.65 billion, and the trade balance was $4.17 billion, a surplus for the 11th consecutive month.
