China News Service, Urumqi, March 31 (Hu Peigen, Yi Bingxing) According to data from Xinjiang Power Exchange Center Co., Ltd. on the 31st, Xinjiang’s electricity market-oriented trading volume exceeded 300 billion kWh, releasing a reform dividend of about 20 billion yuan, 3,500 yuan. Many market players have benefited from this. It is expected to create 110 billion yuan in direct economic benefits for Xinjiang, increase tax revenue by about 6.5 billion yuan, and greatly promote the development of upstream and downstream industries and new energy industries.

This electricity can be used by 1.4 billion residents across the country for about 100 days, which is equivalent to the electricity generated by burning 91.65 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 43% of my country's raw coal imports in 2020.

These standard coals are calculated based on the load of 60 tons per train carriage, which requires about 2.14 million carriages to transport.

It is understood that in the market-based transaction electricity, 214.6 billion kWh is directly traded, accounting for 71.39% of the total electricity; the power generation right substitution transaction is 58.8 billion kWh, accounting for 19.56% of the total electricity; the transfer transaction 24.4 billion kWh, accounting for the total electricity 8.12%; 2.8 billion kWh of electric heating transactions, accounting for 0.93% of the total electricity.

In March 2016, Xinjiang established the country’s first provincial-level power trading platform—Xinjiang Power Trading Center Co., Ltd., integrating power generation companies, grid companies, power sales companies, and power customers, and other market entities, and promoting the formation of an effective market competition mechanism .

Since the establishment of Xinjiang Power Exchange Center Co., Ltd., it has continued to deepen the reform of the power system, completed the shareholding system transformation, achieved full access to power market-oriented transactions, continued to innovate market-oriented transaction varieties, lifted restrictions on new energy transactions, and met customer demand for all green power consumption. Promoted the development of Xinjiang power market.

Data shows that in 2016, Xinjiang’s electricity market-oriented transactions had only 3 trading varieties, and 6 batches of transactions were organized throughout the year, with a transaction volume of 19.7 billion kwh.

By 2020, there have been 7 trading varieties, and 65 batches of transactions have been organized throughout the year, with a transaction volume of 73.6 billion kWh.

It is reported that Xinjiang power market-oriented trading is extremely hot this year.

In the first quarter, 2,077 electricity customers, 61 electricity sales companies, and 582 power generation companies participated in the transaction. The market-oriented transaction electricity amounted to 15.2 billion kWh, which doubled year-on-year, and the scale hit a record high.

Since the goal of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” was proposed, Xinjiang has accelerated its exploration of market-oriented methods to promote the consumption of new energy. At the beginning of this year, the restriction that new energy accounted for no more than 13% of the transaction electricity was lifted. The scale of new energy market-oriented transactions was huge. increase.

In the first quarter of this year, 1.9 billion kilowatt-hours of new energy in market-oriented transactions, a year-on-year increase of 40%.

The enthusiasm of market entities to participate in new energy transactions has increased significantly.

Data show that 22 electricity customers have all used pure new energy and signed 10.9 billion kWh of new energy transaction contracts, an increase of 3.4 billion kWh over last year.

According to Zhang Xinwei, deputy director of the trading department of Xinjiang Electric Power Trading Center Co., Ltd., the 490 5G base stations operated by China Unicom Urumqi branch have already used all green power. It saves about 10 million yuan in electricity costs, which is equivalent to about 180,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Xinjiang is rich in natural resources, with coal reserves, wind energy resource reserves, and total annual solar radiation ranking among the top in the country.

In recent years, Xinjiang has continued to accelerate the construction of “three bases and one channel”, increased power development, and built a “four-ring network for internal supply and four-channel for outbound” power grids. Xinjiang’s ability to optimize the allocation of resources has been significantly improved.

Up to now, Xinjiang’s power grid has an installed capacity of 103 million kilowatts, 26 substations of 750 kV and above, 61 transmission lines 8713 kilometers, and Xinjiang’s power transmission capacity exceeds 20 million kilowatts. Accumulatively delivered new energy power of more than 300 billion kWh, Xinjiang's resource advantages have been further transformed into economic advantages, and the role of promoting my country's energy transformation and development and ensuring national energy security has become more prominent.
