IBM, a major IT company in the United States, has filed a lawsuit in an American court seeking an injunction against the use of technology, alleging that there was a patent infringement on an online shopping site or app operated by Rakuten, a major Japanese IT company.

Rakuten says, "Since it is related to proceedings and trials, I will refrain from commenting."

In the complaint, IBM alleges that Rakuten infringed a total of four patents through online shopping and apps.

According to the complaint, IBM has asked Rakuten to conclude a contract on the use of the patent since 2015, but said that it did not conclude, so it told a court in eastern Delaware to suspend the use of the technology. I am asking you to order damages.

IBM has said that it has patent agreements with Amazon, Apple, etc., and criticizes that "Rakuten intentionally continues to infringe and further expands."

Rakuten comment

On the other hand, Rakuten says, "Since it is related to proceedings and trials, I will refrain from commenting."
