In 2019, Volkswagen and Ford united in the production of utility and electric vehicles.
Fruit of this alliance of reason, the next generation of Amarok is announced for next year.
Its first design has just been revealed and shows that the pickup will have a front face similar to that of the Touareg.
However, its great novelty is that it will be developed on the basis of the Ford Ranger, to allow Volkswagen to achieve economies of scale.
It will also be built in the South African factory of the manufacturer in the blue oval, at the rate of 200,000 copies per year.
This increased activity for the Silverton production line will create around 1,200 new jobs at the site.
