In the western world there is hardly a company of standing that does not expressly commit to values ​​such as human rights and environmental protection. Over 10,000 companies worldwide have signed the “Global Compact”, the “Global Compact of the United Nations”, with which they declare that they will exclude child and forced labor in their own companies and in their supply chains and that they will comply with social and ecological standards. These include 284 German companies - small and medium-sized as well as 24 of the 30 DAX companies. Nevertheless, 7,000 German companies are active in Turkey alone - a country that, under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, regularly makes a name for itself by violating such standards.
