Samsung Electronics and the employee council, which had recently been in conflict over the wage increase plan, agreed on an average of 7.5% wage increase this year.



This is an increase that is close to the highest level in the last 10 years.



Samsung Electronics announced today (26th) that it has agreed with the employee council to raise wages by 7.5% this year, including a 4.5% basic increase rate and a 3.0% performance increase rate.



The performance increase rate is a differential application of the increase rate according to the performance evaluation.



Samsung Electronics explained that although the rate of increase in detail varies according to individual performance and annual salary level, the average of 11% of employees at the employee deputy level (CL 1~2) increased.



It is known that the initial wages for college graduates increase by 3.5 million won from 44.5 million won to 48 million won, and about 4 million to 5 million won on average for employees.



The welfare points paid to all employees have also increased from 700,000 won last year to 1 million won this year.



Samsung Electronics, which was regarded as the'best treatment in the industry' as the average annual salary of IT companies exceeded 100 million won, has become a hot topic this year. The decision has been postponed.



The Samsung Electronics Employees Council, an autonomous labor-management organization, demanded a maximum increase of 6%, while the management initially presented 3% to disagree.



Samsung Electronics made a similar level of annual salary increase as in 2013, which was the highest in the last 10 years, considering the fact that it achieved high management performance, such as the highest sales and operating profit of 36 trillion won last year, even in the recent industrial atmosphere and Corona 19 situation I decided.



Earlier, LG Electronics also confirmed the wage increase rate this year to 9%, the highest since 2000, reflecting the performance of last year.



An official from Samsung Electronics explained, "We adjusted to keep wage competitiveness 1.2 to 1.4 times higher than that of major companies."



The business community expects that the demands for improvement in treatment, such as incentives and annual salaries, triggered by SK hynix's'Performance Pay Controversy' will spread to other companies that have achieved good results even in Corona 19.
