"The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia approved a conceptual sketch of a modernized 100-ruble banknote, which includes such symbols of Moscow as Red Square, the Zaryadye Center, Shukhov Tower, the Moscow State University building on Vorobyovy Gory and others," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Alekseev clarified that the symbols of the Central Federal District on the reverse side of the bill will be revealed later.

Earlier it was reported that the Central Bank of Russia will update the design and improve the protection of all paper banknotes by 2025.
