On the sidelines of the third confinement, which came into force on Friday evening in 16 departments, the government is asking for more teleworking.

But the large companies contacted by Europe 1 claim to have already pushed the device to its climax, and are struggling to take additional measures.

Prime Minister Jean Castex hammered it last Thursday during the announcement of the third confinement: in the 16 departments concerned, companies whose activity can be carried out remotely are asked to "do the maximum" in terms of recourse to telecommuting.

A call that could be addressed more specifically to banks and insurance companies, which were in the sights of the Ministry of Labor a month ago.

But in these sectors, and in others, is there still room to strengthen remote work?

Premises already deserted

How to take another step when we have pushed logic to the end?

At Matmut, almost all of the 1,700 employees who work at the headquarters in Rouen have deserted the platforms since the second confinement.

The labor inspectorate, which checked last week, found nothing to complain about.

As for the organization in the branches, it combines presence on site to welcome clients and remote work for services that allow it.

At La Redoute, headquartered in Roubaix, we are not going to change the rule already in place: five days out of five by teleworking, with the possibility for those who are still uncomfortable with this mode of operation to come back for two half-days per week at the office.

Why half days?

To avoid having to have lunch there, we are told.

An extra effort in the halls of government

At the Crédit Agricole headquarters in Paris, a note was sent to all employees on Friday: it maintains the system already in place, namely the obligation to be teleworking with the flexibility of one day per week on site, under subject to the manager's agreement.

But in the ministries, in Paris, there, there is still room it seems.

The average last week was three out of five days of telecommuting.

The goal today is to achieve at least four days of telework in the week.
