This attack comes the same day the Houthis, backed by Iran, took control of a strategic location: a mountain overlooking Marib, the last government stronghold in northern Yemen and which could allow them to take this locality. .

A position which would then have been the object of air strikes by the military coalition under Saudi command.

In any case, this is the reason given by the Houthis in their demand for this action.

Six drones were used

to carry out this attack on a refinery in Riyadh.

A "

cowardly attack

" according to the Saudi Ministry of Energy for which it is not only the Saudi kingdom, but also the global economy and economic security that are targeted.

The United States also strongly condemned the attack, the second of this magnitude since early March against Saudi energy facilities.

On Thursday, the Houthis called on Saudi Arabia to end the air and sea blockade imposed by their country as a precondition for a ceasefire agreement.

After this latest attack, it seems unlikely that Riyadh will respond favorably to this request.
