China-Singapore Jingwei Client, March 18th (Meng Zhang) This year's government work report proposes to increase the construction of 5G networks and gigabit optical networks to enrich application scenarios.

As an important carrier and supporting foundation of 5G networks, the construction of 5G base stations has attracted much attention.

Su Xiangyu ranks among the top three in the number of 5G base station construction targets

On March 1, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xiao Yaqing introduced at the press conference of the State Information Office that by the end of 2020, my country has opened a total of 718,000 5G base stations, basically covering all prefecture-level cities in the country, and the number of 5G mobile phone terminal connections exceeded 200 million.

In the future "14th Five-Year Plan", it can be expected that a very systematic and complete network will be built.

A reporter from China-Singapore Jingwei found that all 31 provinces have issued 5G network construction targets for 2021, and many provinces have specified the number of base stations to be built, ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands.

Specifically, Jiangsu has a target of 60,000 5G base stations, with the largest number of new builds; Hunan will build 55,000 5G base stations; Henan and Shandong target 50,000 and 40,000 new 5G base stations, respectively, followed closely.

Regarding the issues that need to be paid attention to in the construction of 5G base stations, Zhang Xiaorong, Dean of Deepin Technology Research Institute, pointed out in an interview with reporters from China-Singapore Jingwei that all regions must steadily advance the construction of 5G networks and respect market laws.

Lu Yu Suhei proposed that 5G signals should cover towns and villages

The China-Singapore Jingwei reporter found that some provinces not only announced the number of 5G base stations, but also clearly proposed the coverage of 5G signals. Many provinces proposed that 5G signals should cover towns and villages.

Shandong pointed out that by the end of the year, it will achieve full coverage of urban areas above the county level and extend to key townships; Henan proposed that in 2021 the province's 5G investment will be 13.2 billion yuan, and the cumulative scale of 5G base stations will exceed 95,000, achieving full coverage of townships and rural hot spots. ; Jiangsu mentioned that the province’s urban and rural areas and various industrial parks and 5G networks will basically be fully covered; Heilongjiang proposed that 5G networks will basically cover the province’s county seats and above and key towns.

Regarding how 5G network construction can better help rural revitalization, Zhang Xiaorong pointed out that it is impossible to promote 5G construction in villages and towns in all aspects, but should focus on key points to promote its development.

The focus of 5G infrastructure construction should be placed on the economically developed rural areas, first to ensure smooth power supply, and second to complement the shortcomings of local networks to play a demonstrative effect.

Zhang Xiaorong also said that the focus of township 5G development can be to promote the development of smart agriculture by promoting the integration of 5G with the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies, and more tilt towards the field of rural education.

"5G+Industrial Internet" is heating up

On March 15, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a cadre meeting. The meeting called for vigorously develop the industrial Internet, promote the integration of the industrial chain and the innovation chain, build more common technology research and development platforms, increase the construction of 5G networks and gigabit optical networks, and enrich application scenarios.

A reporter from China-Singapore Jingwei found that many provinces have proposed the implementation of the "5G + Industrial Internet" project this year.

Zhejiang proposed to improve the industrial Internet platform system, implement the "5G + Industrial Internet" project, and form a large number of new technology integration application scenarios.

Shandong requires that the “5G+Industrial Internet” special action be launched in the province’s communications industry in 2021. The typical application scenarios of “5G+Industrial Internet” have been rapidly promoted, and new projects have increased by more than 10% year-on-year; Ningxia and Xinjiang have also proposed to accelerate the construction of “5G+”. "Industrial Internet" industrial ecology.

Speaking of how to better enrich 5G application scenarios, Zhang Xiaorong introduced that 5G focuses on industry applications, and a large number of vertical industry applications should be cultivated to effectively meet the individual needs of various industries.

The government can actively issue relevant guidelines and policies to explore the construction and development of 5G networks on the Internet of Things and Industrial Internet.

In addition, Zhang Xiaorong added that my country should jointly promote the development of the 5G industry with the global industry through opening up and cooperation, and attract more countries to study how to use and develop 5G to better improve human life.
