Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byun Chang-heum said today (12th) that the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) "I do not dwell on the seat" and "I will follow the decision of (Cheong Wa Dae)" on the accountability theory in relation to the alleged land speculation case of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

Minister Byeon attended the general meeting of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee today and commented, "We will make an alternative as possible to solve the concerns of the people due to the LH crisis, and take responsibility and promote the LH to be fundamentally reborn." "Whenever I don't get enough ratings, I'm not going to sit down and follow the decision."

After it was revealed that some of the LH employees had previously purchased the third new towns such as Gwangmyeong and Siheung and the land around them as new towns, responsibility for Minister Byeon, former LH president, has emerged.

In particular, 11 out of 20 people who were referred to the police were found to have been speculating on the ground while Minister Byeon was in office as President of LH.

When asked by Rep. Kim Eun-hye, the power of the people, "Did you express your gratitude to the President," Minister Byeon replied, "There hasn't been yet."

When Rep. Kim asked again, "Do you have any plans to express your appreciation then," he said, "I will consider various things to judge."

However, Minister Byeon repeatedly emphasized his intention to resolve the situation and devote itself to supplying public-led housing proposed through the 2nd and 4th measures.

Minister Byun added that when the Democratic Party's Rep. Moon Jeong-bok asked, "I want to carry out existing supply measures such as the 2nd and 4th measures without a hitch," he said, "The housing market has been stabilizing on the basis of trust that there will be enough housing supply, but supply is uncertain again." If you do, we cannot guarantee how the market will move," he said. "We will strongly pursue existing measures such as the 2nd and 4th measures and the 8th and 4th measures announced last year."

People's Power Rep. Song Seok-joon asked, "Wouldn't the government's public-led development be completely revised?" Minister Byeon said, "I think the public-led policy can be promoted based on public trust." "I will reflect on it painfully, and I will put in place an institutional arrangement to prevent this from happening again."

Minister Byeon added, "With these solid basics, I would like to say that we have no choice but to promote the (housing supply) business strongly with the public initiative."

Secretary Byun also suggested a plan to disperse LH's work, which was exposed to serious problems, to other public institutions.

He said, "We will make up for the lack of LH by mobilizing the Korea Real Estate Agency, Korea Land Information Corporation (LX), and Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG)."

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun yesterday announced the results of the first round of joint government investigations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH employees, saying, "Minister Byun cannot be free from responsibility" and "I will consider (about his move)."

Minister Byun took office as Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on December 29 last year.
