Amid the rapid increase of stock investors due to the'Donghak Ant Frenzy', the number of ants suffering damage from the'Reading Room', which will give you high returns if you follow them, is also increasing significantly.
According to the Korea Consumer Agency and the Korean Consumer Association, the number of counseling for damages related to reading rooms received at the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center was 5,659 cases in the fourth quarter of last year, up 81.3% from the same period last year.
In January of this year as well, 2,25 cases were received, a whopping 144% increase from a year ago, and the trend of growth is steeping.
In the fourth quarter of last year and for four months in January of this year, there were 7,574 consultations related to reading rooms, the second largest among all consultations.
In particular, during this period, people in their 50s and 70s had the most reading room counseling, which emerged as the largest consumer counseling reason for middle-aged and elderly people.
Most of the reading rooms are similar investment advisors and are operated by companies that have reported to the authorities.
Kim Eun-mi, a former researcher at the Korea Financial Investor Protection Foundation, emphasized, "There are many cases where reading room information is regarded as expert information and is sold according to it.
