China News Service, Beijing, March 7 (Reporter Li Xiaoyu) The latest data released by the General Administration of Customs of China on the 7th showed that the total value of China's foreign trade imports and exports from January to February was 5.44 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 32.2% .

Among them, exports increased by 50.1% year-on-year, imports increased by 14.5%; the trade surplus was 675.86 billion yuan.

In February, the total value of China's foreign trade imports and exports increased by 57% year-on-year.

Among them, exports increased by 139.5% year-on-year; imports increased by 10.3%.

By country, China's imports and exports with major trading partners have increased in the first two months.

Among them, the Sino-US trade growth rate was the highest, reaching 69.6%; China and Europe followed by 39.8%; ASEAN continued to remain China's largest trading partner, with a year-on-year increase of 32.9% in trade volume.

In terms of products, the export of mechanical and electrical products has grown rapidly.

In the first two months, China's export of automatic data processing equipment and its parts and components increased by 68.5%; mobile phone exports increased by 49.2%; and automobile (including chassis) exports increased by 93.4%.

In terms of imports, China's imports of iron ore, crude oil, and natural gas are increasing. Soybean imports are down by 0.8% year-on-year, and coal imports are down nearly 40% year-on-year.

According to the General Administration of Customs, the obvious increase in China's foreign trade imports and exports in the first two months was mainly due to the recovery of production and consumption in major economies such as Europe and the United States, and the increase in external demand drove export growth; the domestic economy continued to recover steadily, driving rapid import growth.

In addition, China’s imports and exports fell by 9.7% from January to February last year due to the epidemic, and the low base is one of the reasons for the larger increase this year.

According to the General Administration of Customs, the foreign trade achieved a "good start" in the first two months, marking a good start for the whole year.

However, the new crown pneumonia epidemic is still spreading around the world, the international situation has increased instability and uncertainty, the world economic situation is complex and severe, and the steady growth of foreign trade is still "a long way to go."
