The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety held a final inspection committee and approved the Pfizer's Corona 19 vaccine'Cominatiju' to be vaccinated against those aged 16 or older.

The final inspection committee judged that the Pfizer vaccine had a sufficient preventive effect of 95% and that the overall safety was good, similar to the results of the previous two expert consultations.

The targets for vaccination were also selected as'Adolescents aged 16-17 and adults' according to the recommendations of the two advisory meetings.

The reason is that the clinical trial was designed for people over the age of 16, and it was determined that the immune response of adolescents would not be different from that of adults.

Whether or not to vaccinate adolescents will be decided through the Vaccination Committee of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
