The Government believes that vaccination certificates are an important instrument to facilitate the return to international mobility and has stressed that the use of them

"will never be discriminatory for unvaccinated people, who will be able to continue traveling in accordance with the regulations. health indications ".

This was highlighted by Moncloa in a statement

after the meeting on these certificates,

which was attended by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, Vice Presidents Carmen Calvo and Nadia Calviño, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha González Laya, the Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campol, the Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, the Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto, and the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias.

The Government

has urged to recover mobility as soon as possible

"and to do it in a coordinated manner and with full health security."

In this sense, it supports the announcement of the European Commission to regulate digital certificates and that they respond to a single model and

are operational before the summer.

It points out that "it has promoted from the beginning an orderly and coordinated return to international mobility in various international forums" and

works within international organizations "so that countries approve as soon as possible a framework for the creation of digital certificates."

How does it work

The digital certificate is an instrument to facilitate mobility, but it

does not include only vaccination data, but also other health tests such as PCR,

or if a person has passed the Covid-19 and has antibodies.

In this context, the vaccination certificate or Green Digital Pass - as the European Commission calls it - "will be an important instrument to facilitate the return to safe mobility".

"It is key to have the technological tools ready to start mobility and to put Europe back as a safe travel destination when the data on the incidence of the virus allow it," he says.

The idea of having a vaccination certificate to eliminate restrictions on mobility and reactivate travel still casts many doubts on

how it will be used, under what conditions, if the vaccinated will be able to travel freely or not

, if it will exempt them from taking a PCR test or passing quarantines in countries that claim this measure.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has already created its own health passport to facilitate air mobility.

They call it a travel pass and it is an application for mobile devices in which passengers can store the Covid test or vaccine certificates and thus avoid having to carry physical documents.
