Toyota Motor's January car production totaled more than 740,000 units in Japan and overseas, up 4% from the same month of the previous year.
Overseas production was the highest ever in January, mainly due to significant growth in production in China and North America, where demand continues to recover.
The company says that although production was reduced for some models in the United States due to the global shortage of semiconductors, "overall overseas sales were strong and production increased."
