Nomura Securities President Toshio Morita is expected to become the new chairman of the Japan Securities Dealers Association.

According to the people concerned, the Japan Securities Dealers Association has confirmed the appointment of Nomura Securities President Toshio Morita as the successor to the current Chairman Shigeharu Suzuki on July 1st.



President Morita is 59 years old.



After joining Nomura Securities in 1985 and serving as managing director and vice president, he has been the president since April 2017.



It will be the first time in four years for a person from Nomura Securities to become chairman of the Japan Securities Dealers Association, and the association plans to announce this appointment next week.



Along with this, Mr. Morita will retire from the president of Nomura Securities, and Kentaro Okuda, CEO of Nomura Holdings, the parent company, will also serve as the president.
