Yesterday, Emirates Airlines and the Dubai Health Authority signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at making Dubai one of the first cities in the world to apply digital verification of travelers' medical records for "Covid-19" tests and vaccines.

The carrier stated, in a statement, that His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding, with the Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Awad Al Ketbi.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed said, "Dubai is a leading global hub in the air transport industry, and it is also one of the most advanced cities in the world in the field of e-government services and innovation."

His Highness added: “The unification of our capabilities to implement digital verification of medical records for (Covid-19) is an obvious step that will allow us to verify documents without contact at Dubai International Airport, which will contribute to further improving the passenger experience, in addition to, of course, reliability, efficiency and compliance with requirements. Entries imposed by various destinations around the world ».

His Highness added, "Dubai will continue to lead the way in developing and implementing effective and balanced approaches to controlling infection, while facilitating travel and air transport, which are of great importance to global societies and economies."

According to the memorandum, "Emirates Airlines" and "Dubai Health" will work to link the information technology systems of the laboratories approved by the authority with the reservation systems and travel procedures of "Emirates Airlines", in order to allow the sharing and storage of health information for passengers related to "Covid-19" injuries, tests and vaccines. , Verify them safely and in compliance with the law.

The two sides will immediately begin work on the project, with the aim of putting it into practice for the passenger service over the next few months.
