Toyota Motor has decided to extend the suspension period to 24 days for four domestic plants, saying that it is still difficult to procure parts due to the earthquake on the 13th of this month.

Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. is currently in 12 lines of 8 factories in Japan, including group companies, because the supplier was damaged by the earthquake that observed a seismic intensity of 6 upper in Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures on the 13th of this month and the procurement of parts was delayed. The operation is stopped.

The operation was scheduled to be suspended until the 23rd, but due to the ongoing difficulty in procuring parts, we decided to extend the suspension period to the 24th at four of these plants.

The suspension period will be extended to

▽ Takaoka Plant in Toyota City,

Aichi Prefecture,

Fujimatsu Plant in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture,

▽ Yoshiwara Plant in Toyota City, and

▽ Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture. There are

5 lines in total of 4 factories in a

certain factory

.

This will bring the maximum downtime to seven days, which Toyota says will affect the production of 31,000 units.

Toyota plans to consider whether to reopen these plants after the 25th, while observing the procurement status of parts.
