  The 2021 World Mobile Communications Conference (Shanghai) hosted by GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) opened.

  Liu Liehong introduced that China has built more than 718,000 5G base stations, accounting for about 70% of the world's total. 5G networks in independent networking mode have covered all cities in the country, and the number of 5G terminal connections has exceeded 200 million.

In addition, China has accelerated the construction of 5G networks, and basic telecommunications companies have invested more than 260 billion yuan.

  Liu Liehong said that 5G application models in vertical industries such as mining, medical care, ports, and manufacturing have gradually become clear, and large-scale replication and promotion have begun.

In the future, a group of 5G application integration solution providers will be cultivated to accelerate the landing of 5G applications in key areas such as energy, medical care, transportation, manufacturing, and cultural tourism.

  Liu Liehong also said that China will continue to uphold the concept of openness, cooperation, and win-win, and continue to promote cooperation and exchanges in 5G technology, standards, construction, application, and security, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of the digital economy.
