The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced the issuance of commemorative coins made of gold and silver on the occasion of the opening of the Khor Fakkan runway, as of Monday, 02/22/2021.

Through the issuance of these commemorative coins, the Central Bank seeks to shed light on the most prominent historical and cultural landmarks that will enhance the status of the country and the historical and tourist emirate of Sharjah.

The Central Bank will offer 100 commemorative gold coins, each weighing 50 grams, and 1000 commemorative silver coins, each weighing 40 grams. The front side of the coin includes the appropriate logo and said in Arabic on the back.

Note that all commemorative coins of gold and silver have been delivered to Sharjah Islamic Bank, so these coins will not be available for sale at the headquarters of the Central Bank and its branches.

It is worth noting that the Khor Fakkan Amphitheater was inaugurated on December 14, 2020, by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which was designed in the historical Roman style.
