The government has decided to compensate up to 4000 yen per case for such administrative expenses, saying that the burden on travel agencies and accommodation companies that respond to reservation cancellations is increasing as Go To Travel is suspended for a long time. Hardened.

Since November last year, Go To Travel has been excluded from the target in Sapporo and Osaka, and has been suspended nationwide since December 28, last year.

The government compensates travel agencies and accommodation operators for 50% of the travel price during the New Year holidays and 35% for the rest of the year so that users do not have to pay the cancellation fee for reservations.

However, there are many voices from businesses saying that when responding to cancellations, additional costs are swelling due to responses to inquiries from users and fees for transferring cancellation fees.

For this reason, the government has decided on a new policy to compensate for these expenses as well.

Specifically, we will additionally compensate 10% of the compensation amount that we have been paying so far, up to 4000 yen per case.

For example, if a trip of 10,000 yen is canceled during the year-end and New Year holidays, 50%, or 5,000 yen, will be paid to the business operator, but 10%, or 500 yen, will be additionally compensated.

The government wants to ease the burden on tourism operators who have been hit by the new coronavirus with new support measures.
