Domestic home appliance exports exceeded 80 billion U.S. dollars last year, maintaining the best scale in the same period in history

Exports of large and small home appliances continue to increase

Beijing, February 18 (Reporter Han Xin) The reporter recently learned from the China Household Electrical Appliances Association: In 2020, China’s household electrical appliance industry will recover steadily. The industry’s main business income will be 1.48 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of only 1.06%. The annual cumulative export value was 83.7 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 18%. The export value maintained the best level in the same period in history, and the growth rate was the highest in the past 10 years.

Looking at revenue, the industry has continued to improve since April last year under the severe operating situation in the first quarter, basically making up for the loss in the first quarter.

In terms of industries, the refrigeration industry represented by refrigerators and freezers has recovered faster. Data shows that, in addition to air conditioners, the output of refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and other products in major appliances has turned positive during the year.

Among small household appliances, the output of vacuum cleaners, electric baking, microwave ovens and other products also achieved substantial growth.

The improvement in the economic benefits of the home appliance industry is due to the strong pull of the export market and the continuous development of online channels.

From the perspective of exports, in 2020, China's home appliance industry exports have rebounded strongly since June.

Among them, both large and small home appliances continued the positive growth trend since the third quarter, and the growth rate continued to expand, and the export of parts and components remained the same as last year.

In terms of regions, the growth rate of China's home appliance industry exports to the three major economic regions of Asia, Europe, and North America have all reached the highest growth rates during the year, and their scale has also reached record highs.

From the perspective of the retail market, data from Aowei Cloud Network show that the current home appliance retail market has fully transitioned to a pattern dominated by the online market and assisted by the offline market.

Even for large appliances such as air conditioners and electric water heaters that require door-to-door installation, the proportion of online channels has already accounted for more than 50%.

"Despite the impact of the epidemic, with the improvement of the epidemic prevention and control situation and the implementation of various consumer promotion policies, manufacturers and merchants have actively adjusted their measures. The production and sales of the home appliance industry have gradually returned to normal, market demand has gradually recovered, and exports have emerged from a beautiful V-shaped reaction. The relevant person in charge of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association said that it is predicted that in the first half of this year, thanks to the release of consumption upgrade dividends and the supply of high-quality new technology products, the overall domestic market of the home appliance industry will show a more obvious recovery growth.

From the perspective of external demand, the advantages of China's industrial chain will still be further highlighted, and exports may return to normal growth.
